PTSD Treatment for First Responders

PTSD Treatment for First Responders

While all behavioral health conditions are of concern, PTSD can be particularly detrimental to first responders and their loved ones. To ensure that America’s heroes have access to the support they need, Unified Wellness Center has developed a series of programs, including PTSD treatment for first responders.

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, nearly one out of three first responders develops one or more behavioral health conditions.1 These conditions may include depression, substance use disorders, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Comparatively, the general population only develops these conditions at a rate of about 20 percent.

Our experienced team is dedicated to connecting the first responder community with effective services and treatment options. We did not develop this PTSD treatment program for the general public. Instead, we carefully crafted our program to help those that have given so much to the communities they serve.

PTSD Treatment for First Responders: Who Our Program Is for

PTSD treatment for first responders from Unified Wellness Center is designed for both current and retired first responders, including:

  • Active Duty Military, Reserves & Veterans
  • Firefighters
  • Paramedics
  • Emergency medical technicians
  • Deputy sheriffs
  • Law enforcement officers

These professionals encounter traumatic incidents at a much more frequent rate than other citizens. PTSD treatment for first responders must leverage a treatment strategy that differs from traditional programs.

One of the key components of Unified Wellness Center program is the environment. We understand that first responders value discretion and privacy as they tackle their behavioral health concerns. Unified Wellness Center provides complete confidentially and a culturally competent program, so clients can focus on achieving lasting recovery.

Common Signs of PTSD

  • Trauma avoidance

  • Self-destructive behavior

If you or a loved one are exhibiting these symptoms, it may be time to seek assistance from a professional provider. We set up our program for PTSD treatment for first responders based on the unique needs of our firefighters, law enforcement, and EMTs. We also understand that you are most comfortable when surrounded by your peers.
