Our First Responders Detox Program ensures safe, confidential detox supervised by medical and mental health professionals. We hold a subacute level of care license – second only to the level of detox care available in a hospital. You will find our facility extraordinarily comfortable and homey, accompanied by our high standards of medical care.

You Don’t Have to Go Through It Alone.

Most people struggling with abuse of any substance have tried to limit their use or create a plan to taper off and stop on their own. When this is not successful, it compounds the feelings of despair, isolation, and hopelessness.

Attempting to detox yourself can be uncomfortable at best and dangerous at worst. Going “cold turkey” with alcohol, benzodiazepines, or heroin can be life-threatening if not executed properly.

Withdrawal symptoms can vary and may be more severe for some, but they may include:

Hallucinations
Sleep disturbances
Instability of blood pressure or heart rate
Nausea and vomiting
Sweating
Delirium tremens (DTs), a life-threatening condition that can cause confusion, restlessness, fever, hallucinations, and seizures

Detox isn’t a matter of willpower or perseverance. Detoxing on your own, without the aid and supervision of medical professionals, is never recommended, and it can put your life at risk.

A medically supervised detox program offers support and guidance through the withdrawal symptoms, which may include specific medical interventions to ease symptoms and address underlying medical and mental health conditions. What to Expect From The Unified Wellness Center’s First Responder Detox Program

When you arrive at our First Responders treatment facility, you’ll receive an exam and evaluation from our professional medical and mental health team. To develop a tailored treatment plan, your team will include on-staff doctors, nurses, and psychiatrists.

Our culturally competent treatment plans cater to the unique needs of our First Responders based on their day-to-day experiences on the job. e.Having the opportunity to detox in a beautiful and private home can help with feelings of discomfort and anxiety.

Once you’re through the withdrawal symptoms and medically stabilized, we can transition you into a residential program or other forms of continued care to “reset” and relearn lifelong healthy habits.
